Farm View — Privacy Policy

Farm View ("the app", "we", "us") is a farm-mapping tool that lets you draw paddocks, place farm features, and track tasks and inventory. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it deliberately short because the app itself is deliberately simple.

What we collect

• Account details — your email address and password, used only to create and secure your account. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see your plain-text password.
• Your farm data — the paddocks, sheds, silos, water/fuel points, tractor lines, tasks, inventory and notes you create. This is stored so it syncs across your devices and isn't lost if you change phones.
• Location — with your permission, your device's GPS position is used on your device to centre the map, drop your position, and draw GPS tractor lines. We do not track your location in the background and we do not sell or share location data.
• Camera & photos — only if you choose to attach a photo. Photos you add are stored with your farm data.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not use your farm data for advertising.
• We do not access your location in the background.

Advertising measurement

Farm View includes Meta's software development kit so we can tell which of our ads actually brought a farmer to the app. When you first open the app, iOS will ask whether Farm View can track your activity across other companies' apps and websites.

If you agree, your device's advertising identifier and basic app events — such as installing the app or opening it — are shared with Meta so we can measure which ads worked. If you decline, none of that is shared and the app works exactly the same.

Your farm data is never part of this. Paddocks, livestock, records, notes, photos and your location are never shared with Meta or with any advertiser, whichever way you answer.

You can change your answer at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on your device.

Where your data is stored

Account and farm data are stored securely in the cloud using Supabase, our database and authentication provider. Access is protected by row-level security, so each account can only read and write its own data. Map imagery is served by standard map tile providers.

Sharing with others

If you invite an employee or team member to a farm, the farm data you share with them becomes visible to that person. That is a deliberate feature you control.

Your choices & rights

• You can edit or delete your farm data at any time inside the app.
• You can revoke camera or location access at any time in your device settings.
• You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing [email protected]. We will delete it within 30 days.

Children

Farm View is intended for farm operators and is not directed at children under 13.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
